Trapeze Style

Did you know....
Christian Dior first introduced the A-line style dress in the 1950s, known as the trapeze dress. The style was a triangular, swingy dress that was originally designed to be worn with flats and the big hairdos of that era. The 1960s morphed the trapeze style into shorter tent dress and babydoll styles. The term "baby doll" dress was first established in the 1950s from the empire waisted styles that the teenagers wore to look "childlike" and supposedly less like their mothers.

Of course we all know this is the hottest look currently and it will probably continue well into Fall so keep your eye on this trend.
